How to Make Budget Of your Classic Cars

While budget plays a major part in decision making for those who want to buy classic cars, it’s often the personality of the vehicle and the buyer that need to be looked at for that perfect union to take place. So how does that tie in with Chevrolet classics?
Let’s look back at the mid 1960s. That’s when Chevrolet began production of the Corvette. It was later described as a supercar for the poor man, and far later than that sung about by none other than The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, little red versions at any rate! The Corvette offered raw power at an affordable price. Being in production for such a long time Chevy’s Corvette underwent multiple style adaptations, and even the car’s power was set won to a mere 200 horsepower in deference to the ecological interests. Corvettes manufactured today do boast superb horsepower. Are we seeing tomorrow’s classic emerging before our eyes?
Chevy’s Impalas did for tail fins what Madonna did for Jean Paul Gaultier’s conical bustier. But that image was short lived and by the early sixties the fins were discarded and the styling became more sedate.
Sedate, however, is not a term that would be applied to the Chevrolet Camaro. This was a real muscle car and its manufacture was a direct repost to the Ford Mustang and its phenomenal popularity. With a 425 horsepower V8 engine, this beast really could growl and roar.
Still on the subject of muscle cars, Chevrolet created the Nova in 1962. Sometimes also referred to as the Chevy II, the Nova was a more compact and economically priced brother to the Camaro. Later versions boasted a V8 engine which augmented the car’s performance.
And so a pattern was emerging, and this is illustrated by the introduction of the Chevrolet Chevelle which had a 396 hp engine as standard. But perhaps the biggest triumph was the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. This sleek two-door coupe is recognised as one of General Motor's resounding successes in the eyes of the NASCAR stock car racing fraternity. The Monte Carlo was based on Chevy's A platform. Its unique design was wrought by Elliot Estes and Dave Hollis.
Anyone who wants to buy Cheap cars would do well to look at what Chevrolet has offered over the years, there is something for all tastes.

Motorcycle's Fat Spoke Wheels

Fat Spoked wheels have come a long way since they were first made out of wood for use on carts, chariots, horse-drawn carriages/buggies, bicycles, and early automobiles. When it was first invented, the sole purpose of the spoked wheel was to make vehicles lighter and swifter, thus making it easier to transport objects and/or people from one place to another. While it's impossible to re-invent the wheel, innovation and advances in technology have enabled the creation of spoked wheels that are not only much stronger and more reliable, but aesthetically pleasing as well.

If there's one thing Harley-Davidson enthusiasts can agree on, it's that spoked wheels look good on just about any bike. One person who definitely likes the look of spoked wheels is Sam Wakim, the owner of Ride Wright Wheels in Anaheim, CA. Sam has been in the wheel business for more than 10 years, and while he likes the gleam of a traditional spoked, chromed wheel just as much as the next guy, in his world of wheels, Sam wonders, "Why limit yourself to just one color or style when there's a whole rainbow of colors and several styles to choose from?"

Ride Wright's selection varies from the standard cross-laced 40-, 60-, 80-, and 120-spoke wheels with 3/16-inch-diameter solid stainless-steel spokes in traditional round, twisted, or diamond-cut spokes. Rim sizes vary from 16 to 21 inches in diameter and come in various widths, all the way up to 14 inches for 360mm tires. When it comes to colors, the sky is the limit. Ride Wright offers its wheels in any powdercoat color combination you can think of, from red spokes, hub, and nipples to one white spoke with 59 black spokes, matched to a green hub and a rainbow of nipples.

For all those who feel bigger is better, one of the hottest wheels Ride Wright offers is its 50-spoke Fat Daddy wheel. The wheels are highlighted by solid stainless-steel 3/8-inch spokes. Aside from the fat spokes, the way the wheels are laced gets a lot of attention as well. The spokes run straight out from the hub to the rim in a radial-lace fashion, as opposed to the more traditional cross-lace pattern in which the spoke exits the hub at an angle crossing over several other spokes.

While cross-lacing makes for a very strong and dependable wheel, Sam's Fat Daddy wheels were developed and dyno-tested to be just as tough and reliable. In fact, the wheels are so tough, they've stood up to the abuse of AHDRA drag racer Valerie Thompson hammering the throttle on her daily rider, a 107ci '00 Fat Boy with 18-inch Fat Daddys. These wheels caught our attention, and since Sam's shop is right in our backyard, we popped over to see how they're built.

Motorcycle Brake Caliper.

Arguably the key component of your motorcycles brake system,
the brake caliper operates just like a small hydraulic clamp designed to grip the brake rotor and bring your motorcycle to a halt. If youve ever seen or worked on a brake caliper, you know what were talking about. The brake caliper is a U-shaped device with a piston or pistons on one or both sides of the U.

The brake pads ride on top of the brake caliper pistons, and the rotor spins in the channel of the U. When you hit the brakes, high-pressure fluid is channeled from the master cylinder down to the brake caliper where it pushes the piston or pistons inward. That brake caliper action moves the pads against the spinning brake rotor, and the friction stops your vehicle. Since the brake caliper is affixed to your vehicle frame and the rotor is spinning and hundreds of RPM, its easy to imagine the massive forces that the brake caliper has to absorb. Much of the heat energy is dissipated by the rotor and pads (which is why theyre replaced the most), but the pulling and twisting forces the brake caliper has to endure require that it be extremely strong.

More than anything else, though, its the hydraulic brake fluid that leads to the demise of a brake caliper. If its not changed often enough, moisture in the fluid will begin to rust out the inside of your brake caliper, resulting in leaks and sticking pistons. Eventually the brake caliper will cease to function altogether, significantly diminishing your motorcycle stopping ability. The problem is, you may not even realize when you have a bad brake caliper if youre not paying attention to how your motorcycle drives. So make sure youre attuned to any pulling, squealing, or leaks that may come from a bad brake caliper. If and when you find a problem, replace the brake caliper immediately with a high-quality new or remanufactured brake caliper.
